Helicopter Services BOP Ltd has its own in-house engineering and maintenance workshop at Taupo Airport that work soley on Funnell Group aircraft.

The maintenance engineers are specialists and maintain the six Squirrels, Bell 222B and two Piper Cheiftains for the rescue helicopter operations, the Squirrel for the commercial operations and the PAC 750XL aeroplane for Taupo Tandem Skydiving.

PURPOSE BUILT SPECIALIST GEAR

Having their own in-house workshop with skilled engineers has allowed the company to build and design specialist gear for the commercial spraying and lifting operations, as well as the rescue helicopter operations.

They have designed and made their own fire buckets along with foam injecting units.

Long range fuel tanks have been designed for a variety of different aircraft including the Squirrels, Piper Chieftain and Mi-8. These were used on the long range rescues off New Zealand.
